(no subject)

I have not been updating my LJ but that does not mean I have totally abandoned it. I am still very much around, trawling the Arashi communities that I'm a member of.

I just felt the need to update this because I've been adding people and joining new communities (as if I don't have enough communities that I can handle) and just in case they want to check on me, well, yeah, I exist though inactive in posting.

When I go through my LJ entries especially the recent ones (if you call 2008, the last entry, recent), I realize they do not really reflect the very reason why I joined LJ. And that reason is? Arashi.

How long has it been since I started as a fan? And I'm very happy to see that the Arashi fan community is thriving, just like the boys. Of course there are problems like fans who do not respect rules of subbers and the community themselves. As someone who relies on subbers for my daily fix of Arashi, I am greatly indebted to them and it saddens me that there are others who take advantage of other people's work and make money out of it. I don't even think these are fans to begin with.

As a fan, I don't have much to contribute to the community except blog and tweet about the boys and some issues that concern the fandom and which others should know. I know that the Arashi fan community is a happy one, but it does not mean that we should close our eyes to the problems that exist within and that may even threaten the community and take away everybody's fun.

I do all these--fangirling, commentaries--outside LJ, however.

Jay Day! Jay Day!

Okay... reading Singapore Straits Times these days is interesting because it seems that they have been going overdrive on their Jay Chou coverage from the time of his two-night concert there last month to his recent Kung Fu Dunk promo.

This is another funny article that pokes fun at Jay's habit to mumble and more than that, the reporter got to tail him and be in his private suite even for just a few seconds! This is her account.

who hates Jay Chou?

I found this really hilarious piece on Jay Chou written by a Singaporean guy... rolling myself in laughter at work this morning. Article taken from The Straits Times.  The title says it all. (Reminder: a good dose of humour required to appreciate the article.)

Korean Wave project

Obviously, I cannot post such a long entry in my vox so I'm posting the article that appeared in The Korea Herald here. Thanks again everyone who helped me with the story.

Six years later

Haven't posted in a long while as I'm spending more time in my vox. But I just love this pic (taken from Asianfanatics), the original boys who suck me into the whole Asian pop thing. They've obviously grown up (especially Ken... he has grown...big) and so have I, but they--and Meteor Garden--will always have a special place in my Asian pop culture fan life. And that despite intrigues and rumours that they don't get along, they still come together like this. And whether it's F4 or JVKV...who the hell cares?

fave guy... again

aren't you bored with me?

Takuya might be asking that, but then again, maybe not.
For the 14th time, he's been voted by anan magazine as its fave male celebrity.
No TK, we're not bored with you. Never.

swoon

Bad plot.
Bad script worthy of cringing every nano second.
But I'm still watching it.

The Split

Ayu and Nagase have split up. And I thought they were getting married!
Break-ups are always sad. Even if it isn't mine. Even if I'm not their fan.

They'll be baaaack!

According to the Tokyo Graph, everyone's favourite Chiaki-senpai and Nodame will be back next year. And a two-night special will be dedicated to episodes set in Pareeeeee. Yes, Nodame Cantabile is coming back! More doses of Chiaki-senpai's dorkiness and Nodame's clueless cuteness. And the music but of course!

Japan's first quarter drama line-up looks exciting, especially if rumours are true that Momo will also have his own drama for that season.
